Day 13: A Script Set in The 70's.

Groovy Greetings Sexy Cats!

As we near the halfway point of the challenge I'm quite pleased to say that today is the first day where I genuinely struggled to think of anything worthwhile. Not a bad position to be in at all!

The main difficulty with todays brief was that I realised I know almost nothing about living life in the seventies - or any time period for that matter outside of my own existence! I mean, I know history of course, I just have no grasp of the basic day to day living in times past. It's good to recognise this as a weakness, and it means I can either make an effort to avoid writing anything pre-1990's for the rest of my possible career like the coward I want to be, or use this as a learning experience and start brushing up on my research skills and approaches to it.

So, starting with less than nothing except an image of The Simpsons Disco Stu's Goldfish Platforms in my head - I set out a rainy day walk earlier today, with a 70's playlist for inspiration pumping its way into my ear canals.

As I walked, I let the music fill me, and tried to feel it in unison. I must admit, it put a little spring in my step, a little groove, a little bounce - and an idea was birthed!

This isn't a story so much as it is a small transcribed moment of escapism. An example of daydreaming fantasy that we've probably all experienced at some point.

It was fun to write, and the songs within are the ones that came up on shuffle as I wrote it quickly. It helped me get in the zone.

Whether or not it's any good, I'll once again leave up to you.

Here's Disco Shoes.
